Hiroshi Nakano, MBA

Hiroshi Nakano was appointed by Gov. Inslee to the Washington Health Benefit Exchange Board in January 2014.

Hiroshi is the Director of Managed Care of Valley Medical Center based in Kent. He has held various management positions in health care with insurance companies and managed care organizations.

Hiroshi also holds leadership positions with two other nonprofit organizations. He is the Board President of the Washington Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and the Board Secretary for International Community Health Services. He has served on the International Community Health Services Board in a variety of leadership positions for 16 years and has worked as a consultant to International Community Health Services in the past. He has been associated with community health centers going back to 1978. He earned his undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Washington and his master’s degree in business administration at Cornell University.
