New federal financial help available for unemployed to get health insurance!
Lost your job and need health insurance?
You have options!
When you are separated from a job, you may be offered COBRA by your employer. Before making a decision you may want to review your options through WAHealthplanfinder.org or the WAPlanfinder app, which one in four Washingtonians use to get free or low-cost coverage.
When can I sign up for coverage through Washington Healthplanfinder?
You can sign up for coverage through wahealthplanfinder.org now and will automatically receive the additional premium tax credits you may qualify for under the American Rescue Plan Act beginning in mid-May.
For months you are enrolled in a health plan through Washington Healthplanfinder before May, you will receive the additional premium tax credits you are eligible for when you file your 2021 taxes.
Enrollment is offered year-round for individuals and families who qualify for free or low-cost coverage through Washington Apple Health (Medicaid).
Need help? We have you covered.
