Washington Health Benefit Exchange Chief of Staff Wynne McHale

Wynne McHale (they/them) is the Chief of Staff for Washington Health Benefit Exchange. With a background in leadership, government relations, and community organizing, Wynne works to create the equitable future we all need.

Prior to serving as Chief of Staff, Wynne provided leadership and direction for statewide customer outreach and enrollment programs as the Associate Director of Outreach for the Exchange.

Before joining the Exchange, Wynne served nearly seven years with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), as a grassroots organizer and Washington government relations director.  In this capacity, they advocated for increased access to care and helped raise Washington state’s age of sale for tobacco & e-cigarettes to 21.

Prior to ACS CAN, Wynne worked on political, issue, and judicial campaigns, and served as a communications specialist in the Washington House of Representatives during the 2012 state legislative session.

A two-time graduate of The Evergreen State College, Wynne is a proud geoduck having earned their BA in 2011 and Master of Public Administration in 2022.
