Tribal Advisory Workgroup

The Tribal Advisory Workgroup is a standing committee of the Washington Health Benefit Exchange and is responsible for facilitating the goal of the Washington Health Benefit Exchange Tribal Consultation Policy. 

The purpose of the workgroup is to ensure the Exchange implements all specific protections, exceptions, and benefits extended to American Indians and Alaska Natives under the Affordable Care Act in order to increase access to quality health care for American Indians and Alaska Natives. There are 29 federally-recognized tribes and 2 urban Indian health programs that participate in a government-to-government relationship with the Exchange.

Members

The 13 tribal policy representatives who serve on the workgroup, as well as the tribal liaison, engage all Washington tribes and urban Indian health organizations in its activities in order to assure all-inclusive tribal input into Exchange policies and actions that have tribal implications.
