MacEwan testifies in Washington DC on June 12, 2019 on the Affordable Care Act

House Ways and Means hearing on Pathways to Universal Coverage OLYMPIA, Wash.

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Chief Executive Officer Pam MacEwan will testify before the United States House Ways and Means Committee on June 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. EST.

The hearing is entitled “Pathways to Universal Health Coverage” and will take place in the main committee hearing room of 1100 Longworth House Office Building.

MacEwan will provide testimony about: successful implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in Washington; the steps that have been taken in Washington to protect consumers from federal actions to undermine the integrity of the ACA; and the implementation of Cascade Care, the first public option bill in the nation. Starting in the fall of 2020, for plan year 2021, consumers will be able to obtain standard plans and Cascade Care (public option) plans through the Exchange.
