For Immediate Release: December 16, 2022

It’s not too late! There’s still time left to shop and save on your 2023 health plan with Washington Healthplanfinder

Washingtonians can still enroll in or change their plan for a Feb. 1, 2023, effective date. Olympia, WA

Yesterday, Dec. 15, was the last day to buy a 2023 health plan for it to begin on Jan. 1, 2023. But do not fret! It’s not too late for you to enroll in, or change, your 2023 plan at Washington Healthplanfinder. You can enroll in or change your plan until Jan. 15, for a Feb. 1, 2023, start date.

Thousands of Washingtonians have already visited Washington Healthplanfinder to secure their 2023 health insurance ahead of the Dec. 15 deadline. Additionally, several individuals and families chose to auto-renew into plans, and should their previous plan no longer be available, they’re placed in a comparable plan.

“Auto-renewing plans is great for those who are unable to shop for new plans. However, we suggest everyone review their selected plan between now and Jan. 15, as well as consider shopping, switching and saving on their 2023 coverage,” interim Exchange CEO Jim Crawford said. “By visiting Washington Healthplanfinder and shopping through available plans, many may find a higher-quality Cascade Care plan or discover they qualify for new Cascade Care Savings.”

Approximately 80% of those already enrolled in a 2023 plan through Washington Healthplanfinder have less expensive options and additional savings available to them that they are missing out by not shopping. Every carrier on Washington Healthplanfinder has a Cascade Care plan.

For individuals and families who make 250% of the federal poverty level or less — generally those who have full-time, minimum wage jobs — there’s Cascade Care Savings. These brand-new savings allow most eligible customers to buy a high-quality Cascade Care plan for less than $10 a month. And, for the first time, qualified health plans with a $0 monthly premium are available through Washington Healthplanfinder for customers who qualify for Cascade Care Savings. Cascade Care plans and Cascade Care Savings are available exclusively through Washington Healthplanfinder. Cascade Care Bronze plans are not eligible for Cascade Care Savings.

More than 40% of Washington Healthplanfinder customers could receive Cascade Care Savings if they switch to a Cascade Care Silver or Gold plan. Customers can find plans eligible for Cascade Care Savings discounts by filtering for Cascade Care Silver and Gold plans. You can identify Cascade Care plans by the Cascade Care logo next to the carrier’s logo and the word “Cascade” appearing in the plan name.
