We are excited for you to see what is new with Washington Healthplanfinder. We have updated our system to prepare for Cascade Care. Cascade Care creates new coverage options available through Washington Healthplanfinder during Open Enrollment, starting November 1, 2020 for January 1, 2021 coverage. These plans will not be available for selection until November 1, 2020, but we have updated our system with new features that can be used by you now.
What does that mean for you as a Washington Healthplanfinder user? Beginning May 14, you will see new changes to the Washington Healthplanfinder application:
- You will have the ability to enroll household members in separate plans, using one application. This feature will help you if you and your household have different eligibility results, have specific health care needs, or prefer to see different providers. For example, if your spouse wants to see a doctor under a different plan, you can enroll them on a separate plan using the same Washington Healthplanfinder account.
- Improved support for users who rely on screen readers and keyboard navigation. Individuals who rely on screen readers and keyboard navigation will have an improved user experience when they complete their Washington Healthplanfinder application.
- Gender X is now an option when selecting your gender identity on your application. We are taking steps to make Washington Healthplanfinder more accessible for intersex and gender-diverse individuals. These changes are the result of meaningful outreach to external stakeholders representing the intersex and gender-diverse communities in Washington. Their feedback was incorporated during the design process and is reflected in the final language that will be displayed on-screen starting this month.
There may be an extended downtime with the new updates, but don’t worry, it’s all to improve your customer experience.
