Did your plan work for you?
This year, open enrollment is from Nov. 1 to Jan. 31, 2017. During this time, you can shop for a new health plan and even add new dental coverage. With less than a month to go, now’s the time to look back at how much you used your current health coverage.
Did you visit the doctor a lot? Did you hit your deductible or maximum out-of-pocket costs? Or did you barely use your coverage? Being able to answer these types of questions will help you decide on the right coverage for you or your family in the future.
Looking ahead can also help you decide if you need more coverage next year. Consider a plan with lower out-of-pocket costs if you plan on having a major medical procedure, having a baby, or need regular health care check-ups or prescriptions. If you don’t think you’ll need many health services, a Bronze plan might be right for your situation. Learn more about the different metal levels.
Washington Healthplanfinder even has tools while you’re shopping to help you pick a plan that best fits your needs and budget. You can filter and sort plans by cost, insurance company, network type, and more, and you can compare up to 3 plans at once. Starting Nov. 1, you’ll be able to use these tools on www.wahealthplanfinder.org to shop 2017 plans.
If you need help creating an account or filling out the application, navigators and brokers can help for free. Search for help by zip code or language preference.
